God blessed our congregation in 1906 with Pastor Carl Gausewitz. He was a well respected servant of God – serving as the President of the Minnesota Synod prior to coming to Grace and serving as the President of the Synodical Conference. He authored the first showed a loved for education by serving on a team and eventually single handedly writing a catechism book that was the standard for instruction for many decades. Carl Gausewitz was a gifted man and gift to our church and church body! He most certainly is an example of God’s Grace at Grace.

GOD"S GRACE AT GRACE
God’s Grace has been abundant during the 170 years of the existence of Grace Lutheran Church in downtown Milwaukee. He has watched over the life of this congregation and blessed it with his undeserved love! He has seen us through building projects, capital campaigns, declines in membership and growth. He’s seen us through the leadership of 12 (and counting) pastors, 4 staff ministers, and countless councilmen and elders. He’s blessed families and individuals and our church family as a whole. Thank God for the blessing that Grace Church is and rejoice that here, and in so many places like it, God’s name is glorified and the good news of salvation through Jesus is proclaimed! God is good!!
