Jesus Shared Our Humanity.
The Gospel accounts of the life of Jesus Christ offer precious little about his early years. The focus is on his ministry, message, death, and resurrection, and rightly so. That is the heart of God’s saving love for us. What God does reveal to us about his youth is an account that fits the Christmas season of the church year, the marvelous truth of his perfect life in our place as our brother.
Prayer of the Day
Almighty God, you have filled us with the new light of the Word who became flesh and lived among us. Let the light of our faith shine in all that we do; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
